This unusual ring is made from silver wire which has been wrapped and heated to create a melted and twisted design. I love the way the silver melts and forms an organic shape which I can never quite predict. The textures formed are very rustic and organic with the feel of weathered stone or wood.
This ring measures 13mm in height, weighs 8.4g. I can make one to order in whatever size you wish, please choose your required size and make a note in the comments section when you place your order. Please note that as these rings are made to order they will vary slightly from the photograph.
I’m a jewellery designer based in the UK, I work with sterling silver and use heat and texture to create unusual jewellery. I’ve always loved the textures and shapes that can be found in nature which is why I use them to inspire my work. I love the way the silver melts and creates wonderful patterns which I can never quite predict. I melt pieces together to give an organic, rustic and raw feel to my jewellery.
I have been making pieces for many years and selling at craft fairs and to family and friends, but having been made redundant from my full time job recently I decided to take the plunge and make jewellery as a full time business.
I love the unpredictability of the finished piece, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but the beauty of silver is you can just melt it down and start again.
I try to make each piece different in some way so that customers know they have something that is not quite the same as anything else. My aim is to create jewellery that is different from the high street which is why I use reticulation and oxidisation to give it texture and to make each piece different from the next. I love using the textures, patterns and shapes found in the natural world to inspire my designs, such as pebbles, oxidised metal, wood, plants, shells and weathered stone and I love using techniques such as reticulation and granulation to create rustic, organic and natural looking textures on the silver. I sometimes add small amounts of copper for contrast as I like the way it oxidises with time to give a rich orange colour.
All pieces are hallmarked where necessary so you can be confident it’s genuine silver. I am happy to take commissions if you have something specific you’d like me to make or if you’d like something made to a different size from the one for sale in my store, just drop me an email and I can discuss your requirements.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like a custom piece or if you have any questions or comments. I love to get feedback as it’s always nice to know that people like what I make.
