A needle felted William Shakespeare Bust – mounted on a wooden base.
White wool core with blended coloured wool for the skin and facial features. Eyes are also needle felted. Hair is a mix of Alpaca and Wool.
I use the needle felting technique to craft my fibre sculptures.
Needle felting is a process which uses barbed needles to interlock wool fibers to form a more condensed material. Wool fibers have scales which when rubbed against each other catch and lock into place to create this denser material called felt.
All of my fibre is sourced from UK sheep, goats and alpacas and I use the natural colours of the fleece/hair where possible.
If you would like a sculpture of a different person please ask for a quote – I will need lost of pictures.
