This mirror is unique. It is made from a preloved wooden frame which has been sanded, embellished with papier mache clay, painted with bright green, left over matt emulsion, finished with clear wax and a mirror (new in this case) added. The result is a one of a kind mirror which will rapidly become a talking point in which ever room you decide to put it. The papier mache clay (originating from wood itself) compliments the wooden frame beautifully allowing an ornate design which is also strong and robust. The mirror is 30.5cm wide and 36.5cm high and is fitted with hanging wire in portrait position.
Not suitable for a wet room or shower room.
The mirror will be packaged securely in either recycled/re-used or environmentally friendly packaging.
Hi my name is Helen. I have always been interested in reusing stuff but after working in waste management, in waste education for 12 years and then with and within re-use organisations I am now obsessed with re-use and preventing perfectly good stuff ending up as waste. I re-imagine and bring discarded items back to life so that they can continue to be used and loved by someone else.
All the items in the shop are made from something else that has either been discarded or donated for re-use. For example all of my beautiful bunting is made from bedding or clothing which I have either sourced from charity shops, re-use organisations or friends and family. Some is vintage.
All the frames used to create mirrors, blackboards or magnetic boards or picture frames have been made from frames discarded by picture framers or from charity shops. The furniture is also preloved. All of these items, I clean and where necessary repair and sand and then use papier mache to decorate and embellish into unique and unusual pieces. The papier mache (originating from wood itself) compliments the wooden furniture beautifully and is really very strong and robust.
To reduce the impact on the environment I will package your purchase securely using both recycled and environmentally friendly packaging.
