Old-school workshop tools, such as blowtorches, are excellent candidates for upcycling into attractive, interesting lamps. They are made entirely from brass, copper & steel – with not a piece of plastic to be seen!
The blowtorches we upcycle were originally paraffin-fuelled and pressurised using the pump tube. The cap of this has been neatly converted into the lamps’ rotary on-off switches, which have the old-fashioned continuous clockwise action.
All parts of the blowtorch have been cleaned to reveal its superb, original colouring.
The electrical cable and light fitting have been sympathetically installed to give a seamless conversion from paraffin blowtorch to vintage lamp.
The lamp is earthed and comes complete with 40W, Edison, ‘squirrel cage’ filament (not LED), B22 bayonet bulb and old-style, cloth-braided electrical cable.
Approx. sizes (including bulb):
Small Blowtorch – 32cm long x 9cm wide x 20cm high (limited supply)
Medium Blowtorch – 40cm long x 12cm wide x 25cm high
Large Blowtorch – 42cm long x 14cm wide x 28cm high (one remaining)
* Please Note: Due to the range of makes & models of blowtorches that were originally produced, the blowtorch sent may differ slightly in some ways from the illustrated product. Please contact us to see if there are any choices available, and we can send photos before upcycling work commences.
