Description

This beautiful queen white tailed bumblebee is made using needle felting techniques. She is made from vegan friendly fibre- acrylic and bamboo, recycled plastic is used for the wings which I hand cut and score the veins into so each pair is individual. Recycled wire is used for the legs and antenna.
She comes in a handmade paper box, sitting on an origami rose and a smaller rose sits atop the box. As a default I will write “bee happy” on the box, but would be more than happy to write something else- bee mine, you’re the bees knees, bee yourself, bee-utiful, or something non bee related!! Just let me know by message if you would like something else written.
The colour of the box and roses will be random, but if you do have a specific request please do let me know and I will do what I can to accommodate your needs!
She would make a great gift for a bee lover, a cute valentines present, a special pick me up gift for someone or a little something for yourself!

As a fibre art piece these are not intended to be toys, over handling will cause them to become fuzzy and can damage the sculpture. Don’t not wash, if they need to be cleaned use a damp cloth with water only and dab clean-don’t scrub them.

All of my items are made in a house with pets – I try my hardest to keep my items free from pet hair but it is impossible to guarantee they are hair free. If you are allergic to cats or dogs please take this into consideration before purchasing.

About this Shop

There is a place between sleep and consciousness, a place where anything is possible and imagination rules. This is where Quirk the Raven and Curio the Cat were born. They came from my minds eye and were touched by the magic of imagination, they help inspire all the makes here in this shop. As a lover of handmade items and all things magical I set out to create items that I wanted but couldn't find. I was entranced by a photo on Pinterest of a needle felted creature, I immediately wanted one and began searching the interwebs. But as a vegan, I struggled to find any needle felted creations that weren't made of animal fibres. In fact I was told and read that it wasn't possible to needle felt with non animal fibres! I decided to try anyway and I'm so glad I did as it worked! I fell in love with needle felting straight away, making animals, Goddesses, dragons and anything else that came to mind. I love how these creations came from nothing but my mind and some fluff! However, being the creative person I am, and also getting inspired by so many things, I found other crafts that I loved just as much! Again pushed by not being able to buy something I wanted, this time an ethical source of feathers for the beautiful dream catchers I saw pictures of, I decided to learn how to create my own. I am lucky enough that my job working with wildlife allows me to collect feathers in an ethical way so I am able to use them in my crafts. I also began using old horseshoes from my Aunty who has a few pet horses to make the dreamcatchers, and it was this that inspired me to to try to reuse, recycle and upcycle items in my crafts as much as possible. My store will undoubtedly change from time to time depending on my current inspiration and creativity level. As I learn about new techniques, crafts, mythical creatures, see things in nature or in my imagination I will create items for you to buy either for yourself or as a gift for others. I hope my creations bring as much joy to you as I get from making them, and I hope you can feel the magic and love that is in each and every one!
