(cat no. C-050)
Image shown is for reference only, and not indicative of the quality of print for sale. These exhibition quality prints are professionally printed on archival paper, signed and strictly limited in number. Each come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
There are two size variations listed here:
13.5″ x 9″ (343mm x 229mm) giclee print on 15″ x 11″ Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper (limited to five signed prints).
7.5″ x 5″ (190mm x 127mm) c-type print on 9″ x 6″ Fujifilm Crystal Archive matt paper (limited to ten signed prints).
Each print is signed and numbered in the unprinted space below the image with archival quality pigment ink. This unprinted space allows for a degree of protection to the printed image from potential handling marks. Please view the additional product images to see illustrations of each size variation, they show the position of the printed image and signature on the paper.
*Information for collectors:
The full scope of signed limited print availability also includes a single 20″ x 13.33″ giclee print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper. Bespoke prints may also be made in the future from time to time. All print history is listed on the image’s individual page in the archive at www.greigclifford.com
The prints are made professionally using one of two printing processes… either C-Type or Giclee depending on which paper is used for the print. Examples of the two paper type textures can be seen by viewing the additional product images.
The more limited availability larger sized prints are printed using the giclee process – a sophisticated ink jet print onto acid free Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper. These prints have an archive life (before first sign of any fading) into the hundreds of years in storage – half that if displayed. This is my preferred printing method, as the paper is heavier and has no reflective qualities, the blacks are deep and the paper base tone has a warmer look.
For a more typical photographic look, the smaller 7.5″ x 5″ prints are printed using the C-Type (chromogenic) process. This is akin to the traditional photographic methods in that it uses light sensitive paper which the image is projected onto, the paper is then developed and washed. The paper used is Fujifilm Crystal Archive. These prints are not thought to have so long an archive life as the giclee prints but should still last a lifetime and more before first signs of fading, if properly cared for.
Please note the prints are sold unmounted and unframed in readiness for the buyer to custom-frame the image to their personal preference.
The recommended matting and framing dimensions are:
A2 size frames for 20″ x 13.33″ prints,
A3 size frames for 13.5″ x 9″ prints,
A4 size frames for 7.5″ x 5″ prints.
7.5″ x 5″ prints are sent flatly packed, larger prints are sent rolled in a tube.
