Description
This majestic Thames Sailing Barge was launched in 1892 and was one of over 2000 barges, working the Thames Estuary and London Docks. In 1940 The Greta was proudly part of Operation Dynamo and rescued troops from Dunkirk. Today, the Greta can be enjoyed by embarking on a day trip around the Thames Estuary, departing from Whitstable, Kent.
A4, A3, A2 and A1 are standard sizes so frames are easy to find.
This style of picture is best known for its use on the travel/railway posters from the past. The best examples were created by talented artists in the 1920s through to the 1960s when the posters were used bu railway companies to advertise the many destinations they could take you to. The train, in those days, was the best way for families to get to their destination when going on holiday, whether it be to the beach, city or countryside..
