I love colour and textures and my biggest passion is linking colours together either tonally, or contrastingly. I try to use 100% natural fibres in my blankets but sometimes it’s not always possible due to cost or colour availability. If I can’t use 100% natural fibres, then I’ll use a blend of natural and man-made fibres. Of course, if you want something that’s 100% natural, or a certain blend then we can work together to find a combination that’s right for you.
I tend to produce blankets in a roughly double bed, size but I can make smaller or larger ones too - it just depends on what you like. If you see something on my page that’s a little too large, or a little too small for you and fancy a different size, then let me know and we can work something out.
It generally takes me around 5 - 6 weeks to produce a double blanket from scratch (mainly because I work full time and I crochet in the evenings) so please bear this in mind if it’s a bespoke order for a certain date. I’m happy to send you progress pictures if you’d like, so you can see how your blanket is growing.
I tend to use the one type of stitch in my blankets, mainly because I like the simplicity and regularity of the three loops. I vary the size of the stitch, depending on the thickness of the fibres that I’m using and / or how dense I want the blanket to be. Eg, my winter weight blankets are denser and heavier and this achieved by making the stitches smaller and my summer weight blankets are achieved by making the stitches larger and creating a more ‘open weave’ look.
