*You will get the exact pair (two) of earrings as shown in the first 3 photos*
(the last photo shows other colours available)
✩Size (all measurements are approximate)✩
*Skulls are- 20x17mm
*Skull earrings- 6.6cm (from top of ear-wire to bottom of earring)
I have deigned these earrings to look fabulous when worn through gauged tunnels/stretched ears (tunnels not included). It is also safe wear Aluminium through bare fully healed ears. The Aluminium ear-wires are comfortable and lightweight to wear despite their chunky appearance.
*The ear-wires/hoops are entirely hand made from pure bare Aluminium (2mm/12gauge). The wires are lightly hammer textured for a rustic look.
*The skulls are made from moulded/pressed matte glass, which are highlighted with a white/silver to bring out the patterns on the skulls.
✩The Calavera Skull✩
The skull is the symbol for the celebration of The Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos), it is a holiday celebrated in many parts of the world, which directs honour and reverence towards loved ones and ancient ancestors. The flowers that surround the eyes – these symbolise life, whereas the forehead cobweb pattern symbolises death. Therefore the meaning behind sugar skulls is often complex — death is represented as a new start or a type of rebirth.
*I’m also happy to make this design in wires suitable to be worn through regular/normal piercings or made with a non-pierced clip-on ear finding.
*Please message me if you are interested in any variations/single earrings etc. I’m always happy to custom make to your requirements.
If you like these earrings see my other listings for a beautiful matching necklace or request a custom design if none are listed. Please message me if you are interested in matching items.
It’s just me on my own, a one woman hand crafted operation doing everything from sourcing materials, designing, making, photographing, wrapping and posting. All of my muses and inspirations make for an eclectic mix of jewellery, that I hope will appeal to the many facets of your personality.
The adornments that I make are created from a mixture of exciting new and gorgeous vintage reclaimed materials. New materials include Semi-Precious stones, Precious stones, Organic Gems, Czech cut, fired and pressed polished glass beads, Swarovski Crystals, Sterling Silver, Tibetan Silver (Lead free Pewter), Copper, Bronze, Silk and many more. I love jewellery to look old and “lived in” so I will often use Patinas to give them an aged look.
