Rustic Smoke Fired Pot

Description

A carved rustic style smoke fired pot handmade in Cambridgeshire. Made with white clay, bisque fired and then fired again using mixed combustible materials in a metal incinerator to produce an original smokey effect. The pot has been waxed to bring out the smokey colours and to seal.

Due to this method of decoration the pot has surface imperfections which adds to its rustic appeal. Not suitable for food use and does not hold water. For decorative purposes only.
