Made from red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple transparent glass strips arranged under a clear cap, this piece has been full fused and then slumped over a mould in my kiln to produce an attractive bright rainbow bridge which looks bright and cheerful, especially when in a light area where the colours are projected on to the surface. I originally produced this specifically for animal lovers to serve as a memorial for those pets who have had to leave and cross the rainbow bridge. However, the rainbow serves as a symbol of hope and pride to many groups and communities and can be customised as appropriate to meet your particular reasons for purchase or simply left as it is.
Examples of previous customisation include paw prints for pet memorials, a red ribbon for Pride/HIV awareness and a simple cross, Ichthus fish symbol or outline dove for a more religious theme.
It measures 180 (l)x120(w)x45(h)mm and has a depression on the top suitable for holding a tealight or even small items of jewellery, keys, or coins should you prefer.
Each one is made to order and can be customised as described above. With sourcing and selecting materials, construction time, and two visits (or three if customised in any way) to the kiln needed, each piece takes three to four days to make (possibly longer if you want a colour I don’t keep in stock), so please allow a week from placing your order to receiving your item. If you need an item sooner or want to discuss customisation options, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will see what I can do.
