This vintage wine table has been painted with a blend of custom mixed red and purple Annie Sloan chalk paint for a rich, warm look. The table has been finished with clear and black wax for a soft sheen and durable finish.
It would work well as a side table in a lounge or as a bedside table and would suit both traditional and contemporary schemes.

If there’s one thing that inspires, excites and motivates me, it’s colour. As a teenager I painted my bedroom bright red and bubblegum pink, a bold choice that reflected my desire to be surrounded by colour. Years later, having spent a decade as an interior designer on countless projects including hotels, cruise ships and private homes, I found myself longing to spend more of my time working with colours, textures and details and less time sat at my computer developing technical details. My upcycling story began when I listed a small French cabinet I had painted with chalk paint and to my surprise it sold very quickly. From that point I dreamt of making furniture upcycling my full time job. It wasn’t until I’d had my second child and returning to work seemed both impractical and undesirable that I started to seriously work on the idea of an upcycling business of my own. Based in my home studio in South London, I now create exciting and unusual pieces of work for sale and as commissions. Whilst I’m the one with the paintbrush in my hand it really is a family affair with my father sourcing pieces from his home in northern France, my partner getting involved in all aspects of the business (not to mention the heavy lifting!) and my little girl ‘helping’ me paint whenever I let her! My aim is to create stand-out pieces with a strong identity and top quality craftsmanship. My style is eclectic and I work with a range of media depending on the desired result. When I stage my pieces for photos, a part of the process I particularly enjoy, I imagine each as its own mini interior design project and this is when it really comes alive. The pleasure of the making process coupled with the satisfaction of transforming an unloved, unattractive piece into a unique and highly desirable item are what drive me to continue developing my skills and building my business. I really hope you get as much pleasure out of your piece as I’ve got from making it!
