Unleash your creativity – with 4 workshops to choose from, these 2-hour sessions offer the perfect opportunity to learn, create, and find your inner artist.
Guided by either Helen or Suz, you will make your bespoke ceramic piece.
WORKSHOP CHOICES – choose from either:
1 – ORIGAMI POTTERY PUMPKINS with Helen (Morning session only, 10am – 12noon)
Make your very own pumpkin that’s pick of the patch! These origami style pumpkins are a different take on the traditional style – we start with rolling out some clay, before shaping, embellishing and colouring with slips. We will aim for you to make 3 each, so you can create a cosy autumn vibe!
2 – BONNIE MONSTER WORKSHOP with Suz (Morning session only, 10am – 12noon)
How could you resist that face? Learn how to handbuild a clay monster like Bonnie. Add your own details. Fur, slippers, scales or wings? What colour will your monster be?
P.S. Blankie not included!
3 – CERAMIC WEE HOOSE WORKSHOP with Helen (Afternoon session only, 1:30pm – 3:30pm)
Make your very own perfect miniature dwelling starting with an extruded clay section.
Build up layers of texture using different mark making tools. Then either cut out or add windows and doors, before adding and styling a roof and giving your wee hoose its own embellishments.
4 – SGRAFFITO TRINKET DISH with Suz (Afternoon session only, 1:30pm – 3:30pm)
Try sgraffito -You’ll be given an unfired dish, which you’ll paint with underglaze and then scratch your design to expose the contrasting colour of the clay beneath. You’ll get a tile to practise on and then you can sgraffito your design on a small dish, or use some of the designs provided.
All workshops are suitable for complete beginners – your tutor will guide you through all the steps.
WHAT NEXT?
Your ceramic creation will be carefully wrapped up and taken back to your workshop tutors studio to dry, where it will then be fired in the kiln.
Approx 4-6 weeks after your workshop, your finished pottery will be ready for you to collect from your workshop tutor. (Postage can be arranged at an extra cost).
REFRESHMENTS
Hot and cold drinks and some sweet treats will be provided on the day.
