This lovely handmade fused glass wave will add a splash of colour to any surface or windowsill. The field full of red poppies will add colour at any time of year.

This decorative piece is made from rectangles of transparent glass. I have cut the poppy flowers from opal red glass and placed them on a clear glass base and fired the piece in my kiln at home. I have placed a copper wire stems beneath the glass to give extra effect. After the initial firing the glass sheet has been fired again over a ceramic mould to create the lovely wave.

This wave measures 8cm high and 25cm wide (3.5″x10″), the curve is 5cm (2″) which gives enough area for the glass to stand upright. It would make a unique statement in any room or a lovely gift for a gardener or flower lover.

Had great fun with my little boy designing our sun catcher. Really good kit, easy to construct and came with instructions on how to construct and send back. We’re excited to get the finished product back once it has been in the kiln!

I started making fused glass as a hobby with a tiny kiln in the kitchen that was bought as a Christmas present. I fell in love with the process of designing and making fused glass objects and experimented with lots of different ideas. Glass is a fantastic medium to work in – tactile, colourful and versatile. After listing a few things online I invested in a bigger kiln and installed it in a shed at the end of the garden. I enjoy experimenting with new designs and techniques, and love the excitement of opening the kiln each morning and seeing what transformation has taken place!
