Description
Designed to be an attractive focal point hanging on any wall or tree, made from locally sourced Larch and Douglas Fir, the main body is removable from the outer shell to allow for cleaning out of old nesting material before the next season.
Our modern design bird box uses an ancient Japanese architectural technique that was used to preserve wood by charring the surface with a hot flame called Shou Sugi Ban. This is done on the main body of the bird box to help preserve it naturally using only heat to char the surface bringing the woods own resins and oils to towards the surface, making it resistant to weather and insects.
The outer shell is made from from Douglas Fir and painted in a water based paints to be as eco friendly as possible.
Each Bird box is made from locally sourced riven Larch & Douglas Fir, glued and pinned with stainless steel brads .
Brass hanging plate on the back and a brass locking pin through the main body to secure the two halves of the box.
