Description
Hand made using traditional techniques and materials. (Note that this is made using traditional leaded glass techniques and is NOT copper foil/Tiffany work. )
The glass pieces are cut by hand and the design painted using traditional paint. The pieces are then fired at 660 degrees centigrade in a kiln which renders the design permanent. Shading is added and the pieces are fired for a second time.
The glass fragments are joined by cut sections of lead came and the joints are soldered. Blackened putty is pushed under the came edge to secure the glass.
This item is weatherproof and can be kept outdoors all year round. The design is fused into the glass surface and so will never fade.
Can be hung at a window to catch the light or incorporated into a door or larger window.
Approx. 6 inches diameter.
