I embroidered the “Labradorite Heart” necklace using a Labradorite cabochon from Madagascar. Lore of the Inuit peoples claim Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms. The phenomena which makes this stone so enchanting is known as Labradoresence and creates a wonderful play of colour across the gemstone, making it a centre piece for conversation.
I used Shibori silk on which I embroidered Miyuki beads. The Labradorite is surrounded be soutache, which also adds to the embellishment of the piece.
The chain is made with gold Miyuki beads and Labradorite rounds with a sterling silver magnetic clasp finish for easy break and withdrawal.
The back of the piece is lined with ultra-suede for a nice finish.
As this necklace is made with genuine gemstones by hand it cannot be reproduced exactly.
The piece will come boxed with authenticity certificates for each type of gemstone used.
