These hot air balloons have been designed on 3D modelling software, and then 3D printed using biodegradable plastic on an FDM 3D printer.

What is 3D printing?
– 3D printing is a manufacturing process where a 3D printer creates three-dimensional objects by depositing materials layer by layer in accordance to the objects 3D digital model.
– Everything I make uses PLA plastic, which is a biodegradable material, consisting of fermented plant starch from corn, cassava, maize, sugarcane, or sugar beet pulp.
– As with all types of additive manufacturing, there may be minor imperfections due to the way the PLA material has been made from the supplier and the delicate nature of 3D Printing. Depending on the material brand and colour sometimes a seam can be visible. This is where the print begins its next layer. Of course that being said, I will do my best to eliminate any quality issues.
