VENUE: Bowland Pottery, Dunnow Hall, Slaidburn, Nr Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 3AD.
THE WORKSHOP
In this 3 hour workshop you will mould stoneware clay over a ‘slump’ to create your own bespoke Berry Bowl. Guided by Justine Whitaker, you will then pierce your own design into the clay to form drainage holes. Choosing your choice of handles to make, you will create a bowl that is unique to you and made by you. You will learn many hand-building skills as you immerse yourself turning the earth into a useable bowl which should last a lifetime.
WHAT NEXT?
Your Berry Bowl will then remain at Bowland Pottery to dry and then fired in the kiln. After it’s first firing, your creation will then be glazed with the colour you chose in your workshop, it will then fired again to 1220 degrees centigrade to let the magic happen.
3-4 weeks after your workshop, your finished pottery will be ready for you to collect. (Package & Postage can be arrange at an extra cost).
REFRESHMENTS
Hot and cold drinks and a cake on the day will be provided.
