Description

These green and emerald postage stamp earrings are one of a kind, made of several layers of postage stamps from around the world, and including different shades of green, there will never be another pair exactly like them.

They measure 4cm/1.6inches long and 2.5cm/0.9inches wide.

Each stamp has been backed with light weight paper to give them strength, then carefully cut into ovals and stacked to form each individual earring – because of the range of stamps used, these earrings are similar but not an identical pair.

Each stamp has been coated with clear drying glue, and this makes them water resistant up to a point, but they will not survive being submerged in water.

The findings used to complete these earrings are brass.

On the back of each pair of earrings will be a random tiny hand drawn creature…those creatures get everywhere!

The Crazy Creature Lady!
I live in Northumberland at the moment, but I’m originally from Aberdeen. That’s where the creatures started, from a book about making hand sewn dolls, bought for me by my mother. I started with the patterns in the book…and then sort of branched out.

My first entirely unique designs weren’t exactly perfect, but I didn’t let that stop me, and I like to think the creatures I sell now have improved a bit from those initial creations! But it started out as a hobby, and it wasn’t until I lost my job a few years ago, that I thought what the hell, why not try to sell them?

Each of the pieces I make are unique, no two creatures or pair of earrings are the same!

I love making them, and I like to think that they add a touch of quirkiness and joy to those who buy them!
