Handmade unique fused dichroic glass cabachon for use in jewellery, crafts, art ETC. ONLY ONE MADE.
This listing is for ONE cabachon.
I have a microwave kiln that allows me to create individual cabachons from various layers of glass. Taking glass from sheet to a beautiful, colourful piece of fused glass. I have cut, layered and fused this glass taking into account the colour contrast in my design. This specific one shimmers with a rainbow of colours that alter depending on the light and angle. You will see blue, green, gold, pink, purple and many colours in between. 4 layers of glass form a robust piece of art. The base is black bullseye glass, topped with 2 layers of dichroic clear glass and a clear top. The layering of the clear dichroic give the design depth as you can see the lower layer through the top layer.
Phones and screens will vary colours
DICHROIC is a multi-layer coating placed on glass using a technical process known as thin film coating. Dichroic glass has a transmitted colour and a completely different reflective colour; these two colours shift depending on the angle of view. The play of light together with its vibrant colour makes dichroic glass a prime tool to add interest to any jewellery, craft or art.
Approx 2cm x 2cm and 6mm at the highest point, that’s the physics bit. It also domes in the centre, (this is the nature of fused glass cabs) it has a flat base.

She is passionate about making unique jewellery for people and this is echoed in her memorial jewellery. Designing stunning pieces of glass with cremation ashes encased inside taking into acclunt her clients’ wishes, design ideas and personal preferences. Each piece is lovingly crafted by hand with the utmost respect, resulting in a usmique item you will treasure.
‘it’s my sole reason for learning silver smithing. I wanted to be able to create my own settings for the beautiful glass I create and involve the client in the design process, ultimately making a very personal memorial piece encapsulating the ashes of a loved one or pet. I want to enable people to keep them close by’
I am consistently thinking of new designs for both my jewellery ranges and my memorial jewellery. My designs evolve.
Corrine’s experience in jewellery making is a mix of self education, college, work experience with jewellers and alot of hands on experience.
