This set of cufflinks are made using motor agate, also known as fordite, from the Chrevolet plant in Detroit. The items you see in the photo’s are the exact set of cuff links that you will receive.
The cufflinks base metal is brass and they are then painted black. In order to ensure that the fordite inserts are protected there is a layer of epoxy resin on top. This will ensure they last a very long time.
Fordite is made up of hundreds of layers of paint that build up in the spray booths at car factories. Each time a new layer of paint is added it is then baked, this allows the fordite to be shaped, cut and polished to give the finished product you see here.
The beauty of fordite is that you will never get two pieces that are exactly the same. This gives each piece a one of kind design that will stand out and add to any outfit.
Each set of cufflinks will be posted out in a small gift bag. If you have any questions about the cufflinks or anything else in my shop please just ask.
