Whenever I’m at the beach at home or abroad I always collect little bits of driftwood and tiny interesting pebbles and shells. I also use little bits found in forests and woods that I then dry and use. This little driftwood art scene has been made from a piece of lovely driftwood found in a beach in Menorca.
I love driftwood and it works so well with distressed chalk paint. Each one I make is completely different to the next which makes each piece unique.
The base of the piece measures approx. 11cm long and 7cm at its widest point. It is approx. 5.5cm high.
I have used some cork and timber scraps for the windmill and that has been painted with duck egg blue and lightly distressed. It really is a beautiful piece with lots of detail. The sails and door are all made from scraps. There are windows painted on the windmill.
I have made 2 cottages from reclaimed timber and painted then sandcastle and Antoinette Pink. They have driftwood roofs and a chimney made from a tiny nail.
There is a boat on the front of the piece.
I have made a little bridge across the gap in the wood in the middle.
There are small pieces of dried wood, seaweed, rocks and coral used on the piece.
This item is not a toy and has pointed objects.
The scene is well wrapped in bubble wrap for posting.
