Whenever I’m at the beach at home or abroad I always collect little bits of driftwood and tiny interesting pebbles and shells. This driftwood scene has been created using a block of driftwood found on a beach in Devon. An incredibly detailed small piece.
I love driftwood and it works so well with distressed chalk paint. Each cottage and scene I make is completely different to the next which makes each one unique.
The cube shaped piece of driftwood is lovely and rounded and measures approx. 8cm long, 6.5cm wide. I have attached another small piece on the top of the block to create some height for the lighthouse and cottage. The whole piece is approx. 13.5cm high.
There are 5 cottages and a lighthouse on the piece that have been painted in grey, duck egg, pink and sandcastle. They each have a roof made from a driftwood piece. The windows are handpainted and the door is also a driftwood slice. Each has a chimney made from a nail. The lighthouse is duck egg and white stripes.
There is a ladder going down the cliffside and railings at the top.
There is a buoy on the quayside.
This item is not a toy and has pointed objects.
The scene is well wrapped in bubble wrap for posting as a signed for parcel.
