Whenever I’m at the beach at home or abroad I always collect little bits of driftwood and tiny interesting pebbles and shells. I also use little bits found in forests and woods that I then dry and use. These little freestanding driftwood cottages have been made from pieces of driftwood and other items found on a beach in Devon and Menorca and reclaimed wood.
I love driftwood and it works so well with distressed chalk paint. Each cottage I make is completely different to the next which makes each one unique.
The piece measures approx. 7cm long x 4.5cm wide and is 9.5cm high.
This sage green cottage has been made from some reclaimed timber. The roof is driftwood from Devon. The roof has a chimney made from a nail. The door is a driftwood slither.
The cottage is mounted on a reclaimed timber block that has been waxed.
There is a fence along the front of the piece and a ladder going down the front.
There is weed and rocks collected from a beach in Menorca.
I have attached some fabric tabs to the bottom of the piece so that it sits comfortably.
This item is not a toy and has pointed objects.
The scene is well wrapped in bubble wrap for posting.
