A lovely Driftwood Cottage scene made from bits of driftwood, rocks and dried seaweed picked up from the beach in Menorca, that has been mounted in a box frame.
I always collect driftwood while abroad on my holidays from the beach and use it to make driftwood cottage ornaments and framed cottages.I love that each item is unique as no piece of wood is the same.
The box frame is white and measures approx – 25.5cm x 25.5cm and is 4.5 cm deep.
The little cottage is made from reclaimed timber and is painted in Duck Egg Blue and the window frames painted white with black. The roof is made from a piece of driftwood that has been waxed and a nail for a chimney. The door has been shaped from a little shard of driftwood. I have used dried seaweeds for trees and shrubs.
The cottage is mounted on a lovely smoothed piece of driftwood that has also been waxed and various stones, coral and dried seaweed have been used.
The whole scene has been mounted on pale blue washed watercolour paper and placed inside a white mount. There is a glass front.
The item is wrapped in bubble wrap, card and brown paper for posting as Small Parcel Signed For.
