This framed mini picture features an impressionist view of a garden of delphiniums in blue, pink and purple
Accessory glass such as frit (glass granules) and stringer (rods) are used to create a field of flowers, like any cottage garden there is lots of other flowers joining in! The glass is applied by hand to a square of glass, which is then fired to a textured fuse in one my specialist, digitally controlled glass fusing kilns and annealed (cooled in a controlled way) for strength and durability. It then goes back into the kiln for a second time to attach the smaller piece to the base glass, which is usually sublty shaded with background colour to add a bit of extra depth of dimension.
The frame is made from pine and hand stained with oak coloured Bri-wax, to bring out the patterns in the grain. The frame can either free-standing or wall hung. The frame is approx 7.5cm square
All pieces are unique and made by hand in the studio in Derbyshire.
