These face coverings/face masks are made with 2 layers of cotton fabric in various colours and patterns.
I have left a gap at the bottom so a filter (I don’t have these) can be inserted if you so desire.
There is a metal strip at the top which allows you to shape the mask to the contours of your face, giving a better fit. I have discovered that these metal strips will snap if bent too often, so please, once shaped properly leave them alone. Each mask has 3 pleats allowing it to cover from your upper nose to your chin. There is only 1 size (16cmx8cm/6″x3″). The elasticated straps fit comfortably around your ears.
I have lots of colours and patterns in my fabric collection and can make these to order, just send me a message telling me what colours/themes you would like or just get a random selection.
These face coverings can be washed at 60 degrees Centigrade but must be allowed to dry naturally (don’t tumble dry – the straps will shrivel and the metal strip would get dangerously hot).
I have used a variety of fabrics for these: upcycled sari, charity finds, old scraps I had lying in my stash. I also started to machine stitch the nose clip in place then decided to hand sew most of them one evening. There was a sparkly thread I got from a charity shop a few years back which is now virtually gone.
