✩Amethyst Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
*Amethyst is a naturally purple coloured variety of Quartz.
*The Amethyst’s meaning is spiritual growth and protection.
*These beautiful healing crystals are also known for bringing clarity of the mind to the owner. By wearing or using Amethyst crystals, you can become more in tune with your own feelings and get to know your inner self on a much deeper level. It is a gemstone which can bring you calmness, inner peace and is thought to heighten your natural intuition.
*Amethyst is renown for its ability to reduce addictive traits. The name amethyst is derived from the ancient Greek word “amethustos”, which translates to “not drunk”. In ancient times goblets made of amethyst or in the colour purple were thought to hinder inebriation.
*Amethyst is the stone of St. Valentine and of faithful lovers because St. Valentine was thought to have worn an Amethyst ring engraved with the image of Cupid.

✩Carnelian Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
*Carnelian is the name given to one of the numerous varieties of Agate/Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Its name comes from the River Acate in Sicily, where Agates were first found. Called the earth rainbow, the concentric bands of Agate form in nearly every colour the earth can produce.
*Historically, The ancient Egyptians called Carnelian “the setting sun.” In its orange hues, they identified it with the receptive or passive female energies, and associated it with the fertile goddess, Isis. In its red, red-orange to reddish brown shades, they considered it the active male energy stone, recognised by its glowing vibrant colour. Carnelian is traditionally worn to enhance passion, love, and desire.

It’s just me on my own, a one woman hand crafted operation doing everything from sourcing materials, designing, making, photographing, wrapping and posting.

The adornments that I make are created from a mixture of exciting new and gorgeous vintage reclaimed materials. New materials include Semi-Precious stones, Precious stones, Organic Gems, Czech cut, fired and pressed polished glass beads, Swarovski Crystals, Sterling Silver, Tibetan Silver (Lead free Pewter), Copper, Bronze, Silk and many more. I love jewellery to look old and “lived in” so I will often use Patinas to give them an aged look.
