When I received a commission to make a ‘Bob the Builder’ lamp I must admit, I thought it was a joke! But no, the client’s name was Robert and, yes, you’ve guessed it—he’s a builder! Bob has his own construction company and now spends a large amount of his time in his office. He wanted a bespoke lamp to remind him—and his co-workers—of the years he spent as a bricklayer.
The basic posture of the bricklayer was not difficult to achieve, but I knew the success of this lamp was going to be the attention to detail. So the final lamp had handmade clay bricks, as well as hand-crafted builder’s trowel, bucket & spirit level!
I take commissions for any type of lamp—sporting, music, fantasy & sci-fi, hobbies & interests. Commissions start at £320 and a personalised, engraved brass plaque for the front of the wooden base is available for a small additional charge. So, if you can’t find that special lamp you are looking for in my current collection , then ask about me creating you own bespoke lamp! 😊👍🙏
The 3-core electrical cable is encased in a hard-wearing, braided, polyester sleeve and is fitted with a 3 amp, UK plug. The lamp comes with a FREE 40W, retro Edison filament candle-shaped bulb.
