This unusual handmade fused glass soap dish will add a note of style to any bathroom. The four copper starfish add to a seaside feel in the bathroom .

The soap dish is made from hand cut pieces of glass, assembled and fired in my kiln at home. I have used clear transparent glass together with copper oxide to create the sea and have cut out starfish from a copper sheet. This has been fused together to give a lovely glossy finish. Once fused the soap dish is then slumped in a second firing onto a ceramic mould to create a gentle curve.

The soap dish measures 15cm by 8cm and has two glass rods to prevent soap sitting in water. The glass is 6mm thick and has been annealed by holding it at a high temperature and cooling overnight for maximum strength. It would make a striking gift for a seaside lover.

Had great fun with my little boy designing our sun catcher. Really good kit, easy to construct and came with instructions on how to construct and send back. We’re excited to get the finished product back once it has been in the kiln!

Loved the colours and the quality is amazing. Bought as a present for my partner who loved them. Thank you

I started making fused glass as a hobby with a tiny kiln in the kitchen that was bought as a Christmas present. I fell in love with the process of designing and making fused glass objects and experimented with lots of different ideas. After listing a few things online I invested in a bigger kiln and installed it in a shed at the end of the garden. I like to experiment with new designs and techniques, and love the excitement of opening the kiln each morning and seeing what transformation has taken place!
