I’m revamping all my Foodie Coasters, and I’m REALLY pleased with how this new PLA filament made it look!
Bacon is, of course, the Food of the Gods (which is ironic, considering it’s banned by some of them). A character in Stargate Atlantis said it perfectly: bacon is the food which makes other foods better. Bread is good, but bread sandwiched with properly cooked bacon is proof that there IS a God and he really does love us. I never really had the filaments to properly do bacon justice, but I found a PLA called ‘Vertigo Cherry’ which is a deep red with little sparkly glitter bits in it. When twinned with bronze-gold ABS (for that PROPERLY cooked fat – golden and crispy, not white and slimy) it looks like properly cooked slices of salted piggy loveliness, just sparkling with that ‘just out from under the grill’ goodness (no frying pans; it just makes the bacon curl up and not cook evenly). So now you can park you coffee on bacon…. while having more bacon!
There is no anti-slip coating on the back of this coaster; applying one would mean that it would be less able to be used for other purposes, so to give you more of a range of options the back of the coaster remains bare. If you need an anti-slip option you can order a stick-on cork pad separately in the store and they will be shipped with your order. The cork pads are sold, coincidentally, from single to pack of 8.
