Not all babies like pastels (allegedly).
This pointy pixie top is hand knitted in 100% Alpaca wool in the colours of the Lakeland fellsides, to keep little ears and heads warm on outdoors adventures. It’s a diddy one, fitting our Big Squashy Bear perfectly, so will be nice and snuggly on a baby up to 6-18 months-ish.
A ‘keld’ is an Old Norse word for a mountain spring. It is found in many place-names across the North of England settled by Vikings. It’s also my daughter’s name. ‘Cold’ is the Anglicised version of the Old Norse word ‘kaldr’, meaning … well… ‘cold’.
We have plenty of both here in the North-Western Lake District.
I support other local businesses by using locally-sourced materials in my making, as well as found and reclaimed items.
I run regular upcycling and rag rug workshops at my village shop in Lorton in the Lake District National Park, near Cockermouth.
