These pieces are formed using hand cut slabs of white stoneware. Once leather hard, these items are brushed entirely with black coloured slip in painterly strokes and spattered with blue and green coloured slip. When they have dried, they are bisque fired to 980 degrees celsius in our electric kiln and then dipped in a clear glaze before returning to our kiln for a higher firing at 1220 degree celsius. Due to the nature of the hand-building process, all my items are unique, with slightly different sizes, designs or shapes to be expected.
This piece can be used decoratively, or as a wonderful spot to pop your valuables at the end of the day. Perfect gift for the next celebration.
