A beautiful 1955 Bush radio repurposed as a piece of feature lighting BUT with the additional installation of a Bluetooth audio module. This enables the playing of any audio from a Bluetooth device, such as a mobile ‘phone. A fabulous piece of nostalgia in beautiful condition that would look wonderful in an office or home environmment.
The radio itself was not functioning properly, but the speaker still gives flawless sound. So rather than abandon the idea of keeping it as a sound machine, adding Bluetooth was the perfect answer! An internal LED bulb was added to light up the tuning screen, and the original volume and tuning knobs now provide the independent switches for the two added Edison filament bulbs. A separate on-off toggle switch on the right hand side of the cabinet turns on the LED bulb and the Bluetooth module.
The radio retains all of it’s internal components (valves etc.) but much of the old wiring has been removed for safety reasons. A braided, antique-effect electrical flex has neen added and the system is rated at 3 amps. An independently switched 5V circuit has been installed inside to power the Bluetooth module. The lamp comes with two FREE 40W, retro-design, Edison filament bulbs.
