100% My wool

As an animal lover, I like to use my art to question how we treat the animals we share the planet with and it seems bizarre to me that we can love some animals and eat or wear others. This was painted to question the idea that we can take what we like from animals for our own profit and use and to remind us that the wool on his back is his and not ours to turn into sweaters.

From the sale of this painting I will donate 50% to Towerhill Stables Animal Sanctuary who work incredibly hard to support over 500 rescued ‘farmed’ animals who live in their care. Thank you for helping me to help animals with my art.

You will receive an original artwork hand painted in acrylic ink on canvas measuring 20 x 20cm. It comes framed in a wooden box frame measuring 24.5 x 24.5cm. The wood has been left in its natural state but you could varnish or stain it if you prefer.

Postage within the UK is free and will be by Royal Mail tracked/signed for. Postage elsewhere will be by Royal Mail International signed for.

Hi, I’m Nicola McLean, an artist from the north of Ireland, currently living in the far north of Scotland with three fancy rats, two west highland terriers and one husband.

I paint whatever inspires me – nine times out of ten that will be animals of all shapes and sizes but I also love landscapes both urban and natural, all of which I re-imagine using as colourful a palette as possible.
