What is Numonday?

Numonday is a UK-based online marketplace for goods made or designed by independent UK makers — built exclusively for independent UK sellers. Unlike commission-based platforms, Numonday charges sellers a flat subscription — £5 a month or £45 a year — and takes zero commission on any sale.

Every seller on Numonday must be making or designing what they sell. Mass-produced resale is not permitted. Buyers can shop knowing that sellers receive 100% of their price and postage on every sale, paid out daily — Numonday takes no commission and pays the card processing fees itself.

The platform was founded to give independent UK makers a fairer alternative to commission-heavy marketplaces, where rising fees were eroding the economics of small handmade businesses.

How Numonday differs from Etsy

Etsy charges sellers a 6.5% transaction fee on every sale, plus listing fees, plus payment processing fees. On £10,000 of annual sales, a seller pays approximately £1,000–1,200 in platform fees. On Numonday, the same seller pays £45 a year (or as little as £5 a month).

This structural difference means Numonday sellers can price their work more honestly, invest more in materials and craft, and keep more of what they earn. It is a meaningful economic change for small handmade businesses operating on thin margins.

Beyond fees, Numonday does not operate algorithmic seller ranking systems that reward advertising spend, nor performance programmes that create anxiety for small sellers. Every seller has equal visibility.
